This contract was for CCG

The building works of the 5 new dwellings at Y Garreg, provided us with an Award for excellence from LABC

A brief description of the works consisted of working closely with the nearby residents, keeping them informed of what works were being carried out and any disruptions that may have occurred.

Site clearance and scrape, waste carted off site to licence tip. Site pegged out and foundations put in place, highways hardcore base layer laid.

Blockwork and facing bricks made up the main construction of the building. Roof trusses added and roofworks completed. Rainwater goods added.

All internal works including joinery, mechanical and electrical.

Drainage works put in place, on commencement of drainage works, issues where apparent with the nearby river levels during a number of days of rain. This was overcome by putting in place an overflow outlet, this was incorporated with the attenuation tank head wall (see pics). Attenuation tanks placed in position, once connected and running this had an instant impact on the neighbouring gardens regarding drainage, after numerous days of rain the said gardens remained free of standing water where in the past this was a major problem. Also the nearby bungalows suffered flooding, in the past, which is now remedied due to the attenuation tanks.

Landscaping of new gardens, fences, paths, and fitting of new garden sheds. Working closely with highways to adopt new highway and footpaths. New street lighting erected. Working closely with main service providers to get mains utilities connected.

All dwellings had sprinkler systems installed to keep with new housing legislation.

Regular health & safety audits were carried out by our in house health and safety inspector which kept the site compliant and kept on site accidents to zero for this contract.

Regular site meetings were held to keep Principal Designer and Client updated on progress.

Work to the nearby community centre was also carried out. This was replacing the floor to the kitchen area of the centre and plastering the foyer area and to one of the side rooms of the centre. This work was done free of charge to give something back into to the community.

Contract completed successfully within the time scale and within budget.
